Job Description

Under the supervision of a Nurse Practitioner and / or Physician, the Registered Nurse performs delegated functions as a member of the patient care team to provide a variety of multi-skilled services.

These activities contribute to meeting the health care, safety and comfort needs of patients, and are performed in accordance with all existing regulatory, state and company standards, policies and procedures.

As a Registered Nurse for the Epilepsy Center you will work with a great team of physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners.

Neurology experience is preferred but not required. You will provide patient education sessions, perform weekly medication titration check ins, assist with the triaging of clinical calls and perform new patient intake visits.

Training and education will be provided for the specialty and there will be great support from colleagues, clinicians and leadership.

This position will require occasional traveling to our satellite offices in Norwich, Mystic, Southington, New Britain & Torrington.

Staff within the Epilepsy Center will have the opportunity to connect and learn from colleagues throughout Epilepsy Center and Ayer Neuroscience Institute and engage in community events lead by the Hartford Healthcare and the Epilepsy Foundation.

Provides office-based nursing care in collaboration with provider

Assesses physical and psychosocial needs and environmental factors affecting patients and their families, formulates nursing plan of care and ensures continuity of patient care through appropriate nursing evaluation and intervention

Demonstrates independent nursing actions based on assessment and problem identification

Triages telephone calls and displays ability to initiate appropriate nursing intervention in prompt, precise, and professional manner

Assists patients and family members or other clients with concern and empathy; respects confidentiality and privacy

Qualifications

Current Connecticut RN License required.

Previous experience in Medical / Surgical Office setting preferred.

Experience with medical software
