As a Test Engineer supporting the Lunar Integration and Test (I&T) team, you will be supporting our mission to return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.

Lunar Permanence is Blue Origin’s team dedicated to developing mission architectures such as our planned Lunar Lander program, Blue Moon (Link : ).

Our Lunar Transportation team is developing our Lunar Pathfinder mission will demonstrate the lander’s core capabilities including the privately funded BE-7 landing engine, precision landing sensors, and advanced integrated power and propulsion architecture on an early New Glenn flight.

Responsibilities :

  • Apply direct experience to structures and mechanisms component (including but not limited to windows, latches, hatches and struts) and subsystem test planning and execution, which could include development, qualification, acceptance, performance, and environmental testing.
  • Develop and execute test plans and procedures; perform subsequent data reduction and reviews.
  • Design, procure, and install test support equipment; manage vendors and subcontractors during installation.
  • Participate in test readiness review, pre and post test briefings, and post test reviews.
  • Manage procedural redlines and updates during test campaigns.
  • Coordinate test crews, support equipment and vehicle configurations for testing.
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise during testing.
  • Enforce safety policies during test planning and operations.
  • Integrate between structures and mechanisms subsystems and overall system level vehicle to ensure component level testing is in compliance with overall vehicle test plans.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Passion for our mission : Millions of people living and working in space!
  • BS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in the design, development or operation of test systems or similar experimental research.
  • Ability and desire to understand complex systems, investigate and solve challenging problems, and work in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and / or oversee several test projects simultaneously while supporting operational schedules
  • Must work well under pressure and take initiative to improve existing systems, processes, and documentation.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.

S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with space vehicle component or subsystem testing including structural, vibe, acoustic, modal.
  • Instrumentation and controls, and data acquisition systems experience, with preference towards National Instruments hardware
  • Experience with 3D CAD tools and data management
  • Knowledge of systems engineering practices, fabrication and integration processes, and quality control

Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $96,480-$135,072

Other site ranges may differ
