Hill International is seeking a Project Manager in San Antonio, Texas
- Collaborates with contracted architectural, engineering and management professionals involved in planning, design and construction of projects.
- Collaborates with District and school administration, staff, teachers, and communities within area of responsibility to ensure that the coordination of activities is consistent with District and schools’ goals and objectives.
- Assures conformity of design with program requirements, time schedules, budget limitations, construction codes, planning / zoning requirements and District standards and criteria.
- Prepares bids and proposals for construction projects; reviews and negotiates bids and proposals; recommends award of contracts and completes required documents with successful contractors.
- Inspects work in progress and applies recovery strategies for potential budget and schedule variances; recommends approval of completed projects.
- Ensures compliance of construction plans, specifications and contract conditions.
- Coordinates purchasing and installation of furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
- Coordinates professional development training for the department.
- Coordinates occupancy with school calendar; evaluates performance under full occupancy conditions and make necessary adjustments.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or 4 years equivalent experience.
- 5 or more years progressive experience in building construction management or related field.
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee.
- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- 8 or more years progressive experience in building construction management or related field.
- Knowledge of construction trades and plans.
- Knowledge of school district purchasing and bidding processes.
- Ability to define problems, draw conclusions and solve problems.
- Ability to use various computer software including Construction Project Management Software, Microsoft Suite, Adobe Reader, Acrobat, AutoCAD software and CD burners.
- Ability to review / approve contractor shop drawing submittals, Requests for Information, Change Orders, and other construction-related documents
- Knowledge and understanding of processes and procedures related to school districts or other governmental entities.
- Effective leadership and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
