Mechanical Project Engineer
Overview :
Industrial Machinery company located in the Merrimack Valley is actively seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer who will be responsible for the design, assembly, and testing of specialized industrial systems.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, troubleshooting, and field service, as well as project management and technical writing skills.
This role will require occasional travel for system installations and field service, and candidates must be U.S. citizens due to project requirements.
Responsibilities :
- Design and assemble industrial systems, focusing on high-temperature vacuum furnaces and advanced material processing equipment.
- Test, troubleshoot, and install mechanical systems at customer sites, ensuring proper operation and performance.
- Provide field service support for system installations, startup, and troubleshooting.
- Develop technical documentation, including process designs and operational manuals.
- Assist customers with troubleshooting processes, ensuring smooth operation of equipment and resolving any technical issues.
- Participate in project management activities and assist with administrative functions as needed.
Education Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Preferred Skills and Experience :
- Proficient in mechanical design and 3D modeling with Inventor or SolidWorks.
- Capable of producing 2D drawings using AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and process control systems.
- Hands-on experience in the mechanical assembly of industrial equipment.
- Skilled in the installation of instrumentation and process control systems.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Travel Requirements :
- 10-20% travel to customer sites for installations, start-up, and field service.
- Occasional international travel may be required.
