Savills is seeking a Research Manager, based in San Francisco, to provide research oversight and coverage for the Northern California region, primarily the San Francisco and Silicon Valley commercial real estate markets.

This role is responsible for developing world-class research that differentiates Savills as a market leader, delivers insights to clients in an engaging and innovative format, and maintains a competitive advantage in the marketplace through market expertise and thought leadership.

This an ideal opportunity for a seasoned commercial real estate research professional with a keen understanding of market analytics and outstanding client focus seeking a high-visibility position in a best-in-class organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Oversee and implement the overall strategic research plan for the Northern California region in alignment with the Vice President-Research West and management teams.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of the conditions, factors and trends affecting the office and industrial markets within this region and proactively deliver information, insights and products that demonstrate an outstanding command of this insight.

Serve as the market expert and voice of research for the region.

  • Work closely with research counterparts and foster a team environment that is collaborative, entrepreneurial and forward thinking.
  • Provide regular updates to, and maintenance of, internal databases and corporate-wide CRM platform including building and owner information, lease comparables, tenants in the market, business intelligence and other key data points.
  • Partner with the business to promote data quality tools, collection methodologies, controls, and overall quality awareness across the data supply chain.
  • Work seamlessly with the brokerage and marketing teams as well as with business leaders, subject matter experts, and research colleagues to leverage knowledge proactively for thought leadership content, strategy, business development efforts, and client decision making.
  • Develop strong relationships with both internal and external clients and facilitate the use of research as a differentiator.

Deliver five-star service at all times.

  • Lead and leverage relationships with external research peers and experts in the local real estate community in order to exchange information and keep abreast of relevant industry developments.
  • Expand and improve the research platform, program, output and staff skills.

Experience / Education / Qualifications :

  • Minimum 5 years of related real estate and / or research and analysis experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Strong problem-solving, analytic and data visualization skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of responsibility and authority
  • Proven ability to prioritize, delegate and foster the development of high performing teams to lead / support an environment driven by customer service and team work
  • Ability to think strategically, and operate / act tactically
  • Must be self-motivated, adaptable and resilient
  • Accomplished with Microsoft Office suite, CoStar, Tableau, Adobe Creative Suite, familiarity with Alteryx and various other types of analytical and presentation software;

Salesforce experience preferred
