Summary

The Manager, Regulatory Affairs - Licensing will be an active member of the Regulatory Affairs group within the Legal Department and will be responsible for assisting with regulatory compliance matters pertaining to alcohol beverage industry practices.

The role will focus on matters related to state alcohol beverage licensing and reporting and associated compliance activities, as well as managing Coordinator activities and the Licensing team’s renewal process.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and oversee new manufacturing, wholesale, direct-to-consumer, solicitor, local and miscellaneous license applications across the beer, wine and spirits business in accordance with business needs and timing.
  • Analyze business issues and propose compliant solutions based on understanding of license requirements and legal research in support thereof.
  • Drive all assigned licenses and permits to on-time renewal and oversee team renewals and process to ensure on-time renewal.
  • Ensure all original and electronic records are current, complete and appropriately stored by conducting or overseeing periodic audits.
  • Work with internal business partners and agencies to resolve renewal deficiencies.
  • Manage, support, and coach Coordinators on day-to-day tasks and development. Assign, review and oversee tasks and projects delegated to direct reports.
  • Run weekly team call to ensure that all team members are in sync and all licensing matters are on track.
  • Manage licensing projects by working with Director, Regulatory Affairs - Licensing to develop project plan. Responsible for managing on-time execution of project plan, overseeing team members’ progress, and escalating issues as they arise.
  • Participate in diligence projects in support of acquisitions, investments and divestitures by reviewing target licensing framework and raising potential compliance issues.
  • Monitor monthly state agency agendas.
  • Suggest, develop, and lead process improvements to maximize team efficiency.
  • Special projects, as assigned.

Qualifications

Location Requirement : While this position is posted in both Rochester, NY and Chicago, IL, candidates must be willing to relocate to Rochester, NY.

Relocation assistance may be provided.

  • BA degree or other education with 3-5 years related experience preferred.
  • Previous experience managing others preferred.
  • Alcohol beverage licensing and compliance experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Teams and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong written and verbal skills. Ability to build productive working relationships.
  • Hold very strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize high volume of licensing projects to ensure all licenses are timely renewed.
  • Ability to use problem-solving and advanced judgment skills to make decisions and accomplish objectives in situations where there are no established procedures.
  • Must be highly detailed-oriented and have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, including the ability to determine priorities and timely complete projects and assignments.
  • Capability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of matters.
  • High level of professionalism.

The salary range for this role is :

$92,500.00 - $141,700.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, the prevailing minimum wage for the location, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
