As a Senior Risk Manager in Capital One’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Team, you will apply your strong communication skills, analytical expertise, and business knowledge to our highest profile programs and processes across Risk Management.

You will collaborate with a team of risk managers, analysts, and product managers responsible for working across the enterprise to develop and implement cutting edge risk solutions to ensure Capital One’s continued stability and success.

This role will be the primary reporting and analytics lead for ERM’s strategy and analytics team.

ERM’s strategy and analytics team plays a key role in analyzing Capital One’s risk performance and providing reporting to Executives on Capital One’s risk profile.

The team is responsible for delivering structured reporting to Risk Executives, as well as developing data-driven insights to inform strategic risk management decisions and practices.

The Senior Risk Manager will also serve as an advisor to other key ERM programs (e.g. Risk Assessments) to enhance the clarity and effectiveness of communications to senior Executives and external audiences.

Senior Risk Managers at Capital One are highly motivated Risk Management professionals with strong communication skills and analytical expertise.

They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and the opportunity to work with executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the company.

Responsibilities

Lead ERM’s reporting and analytics portfolio for core programs across the organization by shaping analytical intent and delivering structured communications to Executives

Develop and manage Objectives and Key Results for reporting and analytics in ERM

Support ERM, line of business, and risk management teams by developing reporting and analytics that delivers data-driven insights on key risk topics

Maintain well-managed processes to deliver ERM’s reporting and analytics portfolio

Lead and support efforts to modernize risk reporting and analytics processes

Support reporting and communication of key risk management topics across senior risk executives through monthly and quarterly reporting

Support audits, exams, and assessments across Enterprise Risk Management

Educate Enterprise Risk Management Associates on reporting, analytics, and data governance

Stay current on the changing industry landscape and regulatory environment, and understand the impacts to Capital One

Drive cross-functional collaboration between the risk, compliance and other business support functions

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

At least 4 years of risk management or corporate strategy experience

At least 4 years of communications or program management experience

At least 4 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients

Preferred Qualifications

Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills

5+ years of communications or program management experience

5+ years of financial services risk management experience

5+ years of experience in reporting and analyzing data

2+ years of drafting and presenting deliverables to high level leadership

2+ years of experience in reporting and analyzing data

1+ year of data risk management experience

1+ years of experience influencing partners, from risk managers to senior leaders
