About The Position
Job Title : Technologist Job Specialty : X-Ray in Interventional Radiology Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 7 : 00 AM - 7 : 30 PM, every 3rd weekend Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 1 year of X-ray experience, surgery experience required License : ARRT Certifications : BLS (AHA) Must-Have : - Cannot accept candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility Job Description : Accurately apply ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis, performing technical procedures for high-quality diagnostic radiographs with minimal radiation exposure to patients.
- Perform radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures utilizing accurate application of ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.
- Position patients and equipment to accurately demonstrate the area being examined, requiring extensive anatomic positioning skills.
- Provide appropriate radiation protection for patients and staff during exposures according to prescribed safety standards.
- Adjust technical factors for proper exposure using independent judgment, knowledge of human anatomy, disease effects, and radiologic principles.
- Assist radiologists in sterile procedures, including biopsies and myelograms.- Perform surgical and portable radiographic procedures as assigned.
- Conduct nursing procedures, including preparation and administration of contrast media and medications, and catheterizations.
- Identify and treat allergic reactions to contrast media.- Practice sterile techniques.- Maintain professional acumen through active association with professional organizations and continuing education in radiography.
- Attend in-service educational programs and departmental meetings.- Initiate requisitions, manage charges, and acknowledge exams using computer systems.
- Recognize and report malfunctioning radiographic equipment appropriately.- Perform all other duties as assigned.
