Job Details
- A large hospital in Arizona is looking for RN's with MedSurg / Telemetry / Psych experience for a travel assignment on their Visual Medical unit.
- The right candidate will have two years of MedSurg / Tele experience and Psych experience.
- Unit : VMU - Visual Medical Unit.
- Common diagnosis / Types of patients : Medical unit with secondary psych diagnosis. Confused patients, dementia, low cognitive ability.
Job Requirements
- The right candidate will have two years of MedSurg / Tele experience and Psych experience.
- LEVEL I TRAUMA EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
- Candidate is required to pass DYS exam PRIOR to accepting. 2 attempts.
Schedule Information
- Shifts : 12 hr shifts. 7-7.
- Weekend Requirement : Every 3rd weekend.
- Holidays : Work in perm staff rotation.
Unit Specific Information
beds : 14.
- Ratios : 1 : 4 ratios.
- EMR : Cerner.
- Charge Nurse : Charge, has patients.
- Nurse Aides : Behavior health techs, Security watches via video.
- Scrub Color : Navy, and panic buttons.
- Tele : Yes.
- Vents : No.
- Hospitalist or Intensivist in house : Psych MD on unit.
- IV Team : SWAT RN available.
- RT 24 / 7 : Yes.
- Pharmacy 24 / 7 : Yes.
- Floating : ED psych holds, possibly to MedSurg floors.
- Floor specific orientation : 2 shifts.
Additional Details
- Rare physical restraints.
- Chemical restraints.
- All are video monitored by security on unit.
- 4 days length of stay.
- 12 hour days, 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks, 2 out of 3 major holidays.
