Position Overview : Are you dedicated to championing the educational journey of students with disabilities? Join our esteemed team as a Full-Time Special Education (SPED) Teacher in Providence, RI! In this role, you'll provide tailored instruction, support, and advocacy to empower students with disabilities, fostering their academic and personal growth in a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with parents / guardians, support staff, and related service providers.
- Customize curriculum materials to meet the unique needs and abilities of students with disabilities, ensuring accessibility and promoting effective learning.
- Utilize a diverse range of instructional strategies, accommodations, and assistive technologies to facilitate student engagement and success.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification or licensure for Special Education in Rhode Island.
- Early Childhood certification and any other certifications required to be a Special Education Teacher in Rhode Island.
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably within an educational setting.
- Comprehensive understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices, including individualized instruction, behavior management techniques, and evidence-based interventions.
