PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Intensive Outpatient Clinical Director is responsible for providing oversight of the implementation of therapeutic programming as well as direct therapeutic services and treatment planning for youth placed at KidsTLC’s Intensive Outpatient Program. Duties include, but are not limited to; client staffing, clinical treatment planning, crisis management, and related administrative duties. Tasks are performed under the direction of the Vice President of Lotus Clinics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are typical for this position. They are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Additional duties may be assigned.

  • Develop and coordinate comprehensive individualized treatment plans with the client and family / custody provider starting at intake, consulting, and collaborating with all treatment team members (child psychiatrist, nurses, house manager, family members, direct care staff, external providers, school officials, etc.).
  • Conduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions with youth in Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), while researching and training best practiced approaches to therapy.
  • Staff cases weekly during clinical supervision.
  • Conduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions with youth and their caregivers through parent support programs. Provide education, training, and support to caregivers to offer networking and support systems through shared peer partnerships.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
  • Provide Clinical consultation and individualized interventions as needed
  • Keep up to date on training for licensure, as well as ongoing training for self through KidsTLC and outside agencies.
  • Assume responsibility for managing and auditing clinical records and treatment planning for an assigned portion of individual youth cases.
  • Provide training for incoming employees on other clinical topics as assigned. Provide ongoing training for the care facilitators as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In coordination with the VP of Lotus Programming supervise the day-to-day operations of the Intensive Outpatient Program including supervision of both staff and interns.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    Education and Experience

  • Experience : At least two years of experience with youth who are juvenile offenders, children with severe emotional disturbances, children with behavioral disorders, and foster children preferred. Experience working with a variety of populations (parents, adolescents, pre-adolescents). Excellent writing and computer skills are preferred.
  • Education : Must be licensed or temporary licensed by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board as a marriage and family therapist (LMFT or LCMFT); Therapist psychologist or clinical psychotherapist (LMLP, LCP, or LP); professional counselor (LPC or LCPC); or social worker (LMSW or LSCSW).
  • Leadership experience preferred.
  • Language Ability

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting insurance forms, contracts, and clinical documentation.
  • Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to perform basic math : add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Cognitive Demands

  • Strong problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to build trust and respect with clients, staff, and partners.
  • Must be self-directed and able to collaborate effectively.
  • Confident and professional when managing crisis or conflict situations.
  • Computer Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Familiarity with industry-specific software and web-based systems.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear.
  • Occasionally required to lift / move up to 25 pounds.
  • Must have adequate vision to perform computer-related tasks.
  • May be required to respond physically in situations involving agitated youth or guardians.
  • ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY

  • Standard office environment.
  • Fast-paced setting with moderate to high noise levels.
