Job Details
- Conducts or participates in special procedures while working directly with the radiologist to obtain specific results to be used by physicians for diagnostic purposes and interventional treatment.
- Stand-by call also required.
- Performs special procedures in a manner that ensures an accurate and complete examination within the guidelines, policies, procedures and standards of Medical Imaging to assigned patients of all ages.
- Performs sure guidance and needle guidance using CT and / or Fluoroscopy under the direct supervision of the Radiologist.
- Exhibits competency in performing and filming angiographic and CT radiographic procedures.
- Deviates from routines when the patient's condition requires it or at the request of the radiologist.
- Knowledgeable of catheters, guidewires, and sterile trays and prepares these items as necessary.
- Obtains and documents accurate pre and post procedure information as applicable.
- Follow JCAHO patient safety goals.
- Maintains quality care throughout the procedure.
- Practices radiation protection through shielding whenever possible.
- Demonstrates a practical problem solving approach to patient moving and handling issues.
- Demonstrates skills to promote patient and staff safety through appropriate use of lift equipment.
- Performs patient bedside lab testing and associated quality control in compliance with medical provider’s orders and hospital lab procedures and policies.
Job Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in / with problem-solving skills, the ability to set priorities, organize work and have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and the ability to work well with others are required.
