As a member of the BDOADVANTAGE Data Management team, the Experienced Manager will play a key role in driving the quality of our Assurance data used by many stakeholders for critical business analysis and decision-making and as a foundational element for predictive analytics and artificial intelligence.

We are looking for someone who will be passionate about continuous improvement, including identifying root causes of issues, implementing processes and controls, and constant feedback and iteration.

Job Duties :

  • Plans and executes data management projects in line with organizational strategy, goals, and regulatory requirements
  • Leads and mentors a team of data professionals, setting clear objectives, and providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional growth
  • Oversees the management of key data elements, ensures data quality (completeness and accuracy) across key systems and platforms (risk management, audit execution, finance, engagement economics, etc.)
  • Designs and implements processes and controls over critical data to support our system of quality management
  • Collaborates with Assurance stakeholders, IT, and other BDOADVANTAGE teams to support data management initiatives, including data standardization, stewardship, and master data management
  • Drives the adoption of best practices in data management, including master data management, standards and definitions, and data quality processes
  • Facilitates cross-functional teams in identifying and resolving data-related issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
  • Promotes data literacy and a data-driven culture across the organization through training, workshops, and ongoing communication
  • Stays abreast of industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to data management and recommend improvements to maintain competitive advantage
  • Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities :

  • Manages workflow and resourcing across project teams
  • Acts as a business lead for the project teams and helps teams find solutions for the most complex business problems
  • Provides direction to team members for data management and data quality projects
  • Invests in team members' professional development through training and process instruction
  • Provides clear and timely feedback to team members in a constructive manner

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

Education :

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or Computer Science, required

Experience :

  • Six (6) or more years of experience in accounting, auditing, or data management, required
  • Data analytics or other related experience, preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in learning, adopting, and / or applying innovative approaches and technology, preferred

License / Certifications :

  • Certified Public Accountant license, preferred
  • Relevant data management, data analytics, and project management certifications, preferred

Software : Technical

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, required
  • Experience with data management, data catalog, data lineage, master data management, or other data governance tools, preferred
  • Experience working with accounting and audit data, preferred
  • Experience with Power BI, Alteryx, or other data visualization and data transformation tools, preferred
