CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager SME. You will lead a team supporting the operations of a cloud-based services platform that will deliver cyber capabilities to a large group of Federal Agencies.
Leading a team of Network Engineers, System Administrators and Cyber Tools Engineers, you will work closely with the Service Delivery teams in a dynamic, fast-paced and energetic project focused on improving federal cybersecurity at civilian agencies.
This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. You will be required to be in our Fairfax, VA office two days per week.
Your future duties and responsibilities :
- Lead IT operations for cloud-based service platform (AWS)
- Responsible for overseeing system administration, patching, scanning, upgrading infrastructure components and services
- Responsible for establishing efficient operational processes and enforcing them
- Draft Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for internal monitoring and process metrics; track and report these metrics to stakeholders
- Monitor and track the operational Service Level Agreements (SLAs), if any, for specific environments and agencies
- Provide leadership for a team of operational personnel, including leading the operations team through SAFe PI Planning leveraging Kanban
- Drive automation to achieve service level operational efficiencies that include threshold-based monitoring, alerts management and auto-remediation
- Collaborate with the solution engineering teams in the release planning cadence for new platform deployments
- Documents and implements the needed security and operational processes for supporting NIST -53 controls
- Coach and mentor team for continuous improvement and optimization of production operations.
- Participate in overall project delivery process discussions and lead needed platform customizations and configurations.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role :
- Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and / or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required
- Ability to receive a DHS EOD is required
- Hands-on experience in system administration, system monitoring and system security
- Public cloud experience (AWS)
- Working experience in secure environments : FedRAMP Moderate or High
- Good understanding of FISMA operational framework
- Extensive knowledge in monitoring best practices
- Knowledge of ServiceNow ITSM
- Working knowledge of Agile methodologies, especially Kanban
Desired qualifications / non-essential skills required :
- Prior experience working for / on federal clients
- Working knowledge of SAFe methodologies, including PI Planning for Kanban
