JOB DESCRIPTION.

Help shape a better world for our youth in San Diego. We are looking for a youth leader who exudes creativity and resilience to create an environment for youth that inspires, motivates, and engages youth.

Our ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a drive to help them realize their fullest potential.

If you are aspiring to become a teacher, social worker or are interested in a childcare-related career, this position is a great place to start.

Harmonium operates programs throughout San Diego, all staff are considered multi-site workers and may be asked to sub or move to another site based on the needs of the program.

We are currently looking for part-time (PM shift) candidates to join schools throughout San Diego, CA.

JOB COMPLEXITY.

Supervise day-to-day activities of youth in the program

Lead enriching activities such as interactive games and arts & crafts

Uncover new and engaging ways to assist youth with homework

MINIMUM COMPETENCIES.

Must be 18 years of age

Must have 6 months experience (paid or unpaid) in any of the following settings : an after school program, group child care setting, or babysitting elementary aged children

Must have 48 completed college units OR pass the District’s Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam ( a basic math and literacy test )

Must have a valid Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification upon hire

Ability to travel throughout the county with the flexibility required to meet job duties

COMPENSATION.

• Starting Rate : $20.60 per hour (all new hires begin at starting salary regardless of experience)
• Part Time benefits include voluntary benefits, a 403b retirement plan plus match, and CA Paid Sick Leave in addition to hands-on training, virtual courses, and live presentations.
