Essential Functions :
- Assumes responsibility for the primary carepatient (i.e. health and social histories physical examinationshandling of acute and chronic illnesses differential diagnosis andtreatment according to policies and procedures
- Manages through mutual agreement and collaboration withphysician that part of care of a complicated patient which isappropriate to the ability and experience of the nursepractitioner.
- Collaborates and consults withother allied health professionals to give complete patientcare.
- Assesses own professional abilities andfunctions and participates in peer review of nurse practitionerpractice.
- Maintains professional competencethrough participation in continuing education and other appropriatelearning experiences.
- Contributes to theunderstanding of nurse practitioner through public relations andinteragency planning activities.
- Conducts andparticipates in research related to nurse practitioner and alliedhealth fields.
- Maintains awareness of trendsin primary care making recommendations for appropriate changes innurse practitioner practice
- Practices andpromotes a philosophy of selfresponsibility and selfdevelopmentInteracts politely and as a team player with all levels of staffphysicians patients and public.
- Must be ableto embrace differences among people and able to interact withinternal staff as well as external contacts in a culturallycompetent and respectful manner.
Qualifications :
- Approved Nurse Practitioner education program experience inclinical area of specialty.
- Current ArizonaR.N. License
- Current Arizona NursePractitioner certificate
- Current CPRcertificate
