SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
- Assist the special education teacher in implementing lesson plans and individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students' needs..
- Observe and record student behavior and academic progress, providing feedback to the teacher.
- Help maintain a positive and structured classroom environment, reinforcing appropriate behaviors and managing disruptions.
- Support students during classroom activities, transitions, and any physical or social interactions.
- Modify instructional materials and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Assist with communication between students, teachers, and parents, ensuring that everyone is informed about student progress.
- Help students with personal care tasks as needed, including mobility, eating, and hygiene.
- Work alongside other educators, therapists, and specialists to provide comprehensive support.
- Attend IEP meetings and contribute insights about students’ progress and needs.
- Engage in training and workshops to enhance skills and stay informed about best practices in special education.
CLIENT'S REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- High School Diploma / GED Required, CDA, Associates Degree or Higher perferred
- Previous experience working with children, especially in special education settings, is preferred
- Understanding various disabilities and learning differences, as well as relevant teaching strategies and interventions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with students, teachers, and parents.
- A compassionate attitude and the ability to remain patient in challenging situations.
- Techniques for managing classroom behavior and supporting positive interactions among students.
- Ability to keep track of multiple students' needs and assist with administrative tasks.
