Main Purpose of Job

TheAssistant Project Manager will support the Commission on Juvenile JusticeReform and Emerging Practices by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting datarelated to various aspects of juvenile services programs in the state ofMaryland.

Additionally, this role will support the Prison Education DeliveryReform Commission by coordinating activities related to the development ofeducation-focused policies to reduce recidivism and increase public safetyamong adult offenders.

This role requires strong analytical skills, attentionto detail, and a commitment to using data to drive decision-making and improveoutcomes for youth involved in the justice system.

This is a contractual position with limited benefits

POSITION DUTIES

Plan and conduct studies and analyses of programs,organizations, procedures, or systems related to juvenile services andeducation for justice-impacted people.

Formulatefinal reports and effective recommendations based on analyses conducted,providing insights to enhance program effectiveness.

Preparemanagement tools such as procedural manuals, statistical reports, andorganization charts.

Participatein formulating, establishing, or modifying program goals and objectives byanalyzing alternatives, trends, available resources, and projected programneeds.

Participatein the program planning process by developing forecasts, proposals, orprocedures for growth and expansion.

Conferwith other administrative officials, program heads, and staff specialists toexchange information, interpret policies, or offer recommendations.

Advisedepartmental officials regarding administrative practices, procedures, orpolicies related to juvenile services and education for justice-impactedpeople.

Coordinateinter-agency transactions and provide liaison with officials in other agenciesin the State legislature, the federal government, private industry, or localgovernment.

Perform other related duties asassigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education : Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience : Three years of administrative staff or professional work.

Notes :

1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to two years of the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from a college or university for the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given tocandidates who have one or more of the following :

One year experience working in a criminaljustice or public safety field.

Experience in gathering, writing and presentingdata to a wide audience.

Experience performing communications and publicrelations duties, with the ability to navigate social media.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
