This position will adjust both Federal and Crop Hail crop insurance policies. You'll work independently and with a team to efficiently work claims, and must effectively communicate with insureds, fellow adjusters, and agents.
This position requires a highly motivated individual who can work under limited
supervision. In this position you'll be required to climb grain bins and walk fields in all weather conditions and must be able to lift 10 pounds.
This position allows full-time remote work. The territory for this position includes counties of Ford, Iroquois, Livingston and Kankakee, Illinois.
How does a Crop Claims Field Adjuster make an impact?
- Upon receipt of claim the adjuster will : review the client's policy, determine coverage levels, make contact with the client within 24 hours, explain the claims procedures, set inspection date / time, inspect the damage, determine cause of loss, evaluate the damages, calculate the amount of damages and issue payment.
- The adjuster could also be involved in auditing, bin measurements, drone flights, training, compliance, and meeting presentations.
- Communicates and negotiates with a variety of individuals regarding investigation and settlement of claims. This includes insured’s, claimants, insurance carriers, and other involved parties.
- Adjusts all federal crop claims exclusively in the American Farm Bureau Insurance Services CAP estimating system.
- Maintains relationships with agency and Illinois Farm Bureau Managers in assigned territory.
Do you have what we're looking for?
- Effective communication skills both in person and virtual.
- Agriculture background.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Federal Crop Certification required.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Typically requires climbing and or walking fields in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 lbs.
- May be required to travel with overnight or extended stay as needed.
- Typically requires 4 years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education and training.
