About The Position
- Job Title : Registered Nurse Job Specialty : NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) Job Duration : 16 weeks Shift : 12-Hour Days (07 : 00 AM - 07 : 30 PM) Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 2 years in NICU License : Required to submit Certifications : NRP, BLS Must-Have : - Experience with gestations down to 23 weeks- Proficiency in all respiratory equipment - Use of feeding pumps Job Description : Work in a Level 3 NICU with 20 beds- Manage patient ratios ranging from 1 : 1 to 1 : 3, based on acuity and staffing- Handle common diagnoses such as extremely premature / premature patients, BPD, HIE, feeding intolerance, respiratory support, sepsis / meningitis- Titrate drips including BP drugs, TPN / D10, Insulin- Function as both Charge Nurse / House Supervisor if needed- No nursing aides available;
- responsibilities are solely on RNs- ARNP / PA available in-house 24 / 7; no neonatologist immediately present- Operate RT equipment such as HFOV, HFJV, conventional vent, CPAP, HFNC, NC- Read telemetry strips- Schedule includes 3 shifts per week, with 4-week schedules;
weekend and holiday work possible based on the contract- Potential standby requirements if not needed on a shift- Potential for floating to pediatrics to care for NICU graduates or serve as a 1 : 1 sitter for behavioral health patients- Scrub Color : Royal Blue- Brief orientation of 1-2 shifts specific to the unit- Cancellation policy permits one shift cancellation per two-week period without standby pay- Utilize the Epic Systems Corporation - EpicCare Inpatient EMR for charting
