We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lead Mechanical Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical estimating, particularly within HVAC, Plumbing, and Piping systems , and be proficient in using Trimble estimating software . This role is critical in ensuring accurate and competitive bids for mechanical projects, supporting both pre-construction and project execution phases.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead the mechanical estimating process for HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems across commercial and industrial projects.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bid proposals using Trimble and other relevant software.
  • Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather and validate cost data.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
  • Maintain and update historical cost databases and unit pricing.
  • Participate in bid reviews and presentations with senior leadership and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and company policies.

Required Qualifications :

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator, ideally in a lead or senior role.
  • Strong proficiency with Trimble estimating tools (e.g., Trimble AutoBid Mechanical, Trimble Accubid).
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems .
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with construction scheduling and project management tools is a plus.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with BIM and digital takeoff tools.
  • Membership in professional organizations such as ASPE or MEP contractors' associations.
