Salary Range : The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and / or step.
The base pay range for this position is $108,800 - $197,600. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.

Position Description
Faculty Positions in the Division of Rheumatology, Autoimmunity, & Inflammation : The Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is actively recruiting division faculty.
The selected candidates will be responsible for participating in scholarly activity and teaching medical and graduate students.
They will also provide service to the University and academic community at a level commensurate with their career stage and contribute to the maintenance of a collegial and collaborative academic environment.
Candidates with an MD or equivalent are expected to maintain professional competence by attending weekly outpatient adult clinics and participating in the inpatient / outpatient consult services.
Non-clinician candidates are expected to maintain external funding and high productivity of publications in the peer-reviewed literature.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (required at time of application)
Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, or a PhD in health-related fields.
Candidates with an MD or equivalent with clinical duties must be Board eligible or Board certified in Rheumatology and must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification / permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
