Amazon.com Services LLC
Seattle, Washington, US
$220.1K a year
Full-time

Amazon is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join the Corporate Business Development (CorpBD) group as a Senior Manager, focused on the payments, fintech, and lending space.

This is a unique opportunity to join a centralized team that manages strategic partnerships across all Amazon businesses.

You will be responsible for generating, managing, and executing some of Amazon’s most complex and high impact strategic partnership activities.

This includes creating deals which are unconventional in nature, need a centralized advocate, and have broader implications to Amazon.

You will interact with senior leaders across several of Amazon’s businesses.

Ensure you read the information regarding this opportunity thoroughly before making an application.

This key role will be highly visible at the most senior levels of Amazon. You will need to work collaboratively with internal management teams to understand where our relative advantages or risks lie, when major features in existing roadmaps are set to launch, and current trends around innovation, consolidation and customer adoption.

We dive deep and provide thoughtful technical analysis, but are adaptable and action-oriented, focused on quickly gaining enough context to enable informed decision-making.

Identifying and executing strategic partnerships is our primary objective.

We are seeking an innovative, creative, analytical, technical and strategic thinker who is passionate about Amazon’s growth in the payments, fintech, and lending space.

The ideal candidate is an independent thinker who enjoys designing strategies, solving complex problems, works effectively with senior cross-functional teams and thrives in a fast-paced setting that is constantly evolving.

CorpBD is a small, tight-knit team who values authentic, strong willed individuals that think creatively and will proactively seek out opportunities to advance the growth initiatives of Amazon’s businesses.

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop transformative commercial strategies that drive significant business impact, ranging from reducing the cost of financial transactions to expanding Amazon’s international footprint.
  • Take the lead to identify, evaluate, negotiate and manage complex and high-profile partnerships and marketing deals that enable new and valuable customer experiences in payments, fintech, and lending.
  • Remove barriers and create ease for customer transactions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to executives running both online and physical businesses at Amazon.
  • Uses sound business judgment and quantitative skills to produce innovative, intentional, and creative work. Can think both strategically and at the ground level.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to gain the respect of and influence senior management and external executives.
  • A self-starter who can excel in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to persevere and remain engaged and resilient in long-term deal negotiations.
  • Excellent oral and written skills to communicate complex issues.
  • Exhibits operational rigor.
  • Able to build and maintain a network of relationships which facilitate deal flow.
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves. Able to dive deep on a business in a short time frame.
  • A proven leader of teams with a history of attracting and retaining top talent across multiple industries and their intersection with commerce.
  • Competency with internet, mobile and cloud technologies.
  • Proficiency with technology and experience working with engineering leaders.
  • A good listener with high EQ.
  • Passion for big challenges and a good sense of humor.
