HDR is seeking a highly motivated Freight Rail EIT / Coordinator with a desire to grow in civil engineering and heavy civil construction for the freight railroad / transportation industry. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and have an interest in civil engineering design, construction engineering / inspection—including structural concrete, steel, bituminous asphalt, civil grading, track, and bridges. They will work in an office setting on track design and drafting and may periodically work in the field to verify construction operations and activities on freight railroad / transportation projects comply with plans and specifications. Field work would be primarily in the Southwest Region (CA, AZ, NV) with anticipated projects in California near Needles, Barstow, San Diego, Orange, and Los Angeles.
Engineering design / drafting projects are anticipated to be performed out of HDR's local Southern California offices with construction engineering / inspection projects throughout Southern California and the extended Southwest Region. The candidate may be on-site full-time through each week of the construction schedule, with travel-related expenses and lodging paid by HDR. Construction schedules typically range from 3 months to 18 months.
