The Clinical Nurseassesses, coordinates, plans, directs, implements and manages theneeds of assigned patients throughout the episode of care with afocus on progress toward discharge, including during transitionswithin the acute care stay.
The Clinical Nurse is responsible forthe delivery and coordination of patient care provided by thecaregiving team. S / he assures that competent, compassionate patientcare is uniformly provided to customers including referringfacilities, hospital staff and patients in the inpatient,ambulatory, and community settings.
Per Diem : $43.50
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but not limited to :
Implements physician orders,administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments,procedures and special tests, and document treatment as required bycompany policy and local / state / federal rules and regulations.
Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostictests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
Assesses and evaluates patient needs for, andresponses to, care rendered.
Applies soundnursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
Provides primary and emergency care foroccupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
Administers over-the-counter and prescriptionmedications as ordered.
Collaborates with thenursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
Directs and guides ancillary personnel andmaintain standards of professional nursing.
Minimum Qualifications :
Graduate of a professional academic nursingprogram in which a Diploma, Associate Degree or BaccalaureateDegree is conferred.
Must hold current NYSRegistered Nurse license.
Obtains and maintainscertification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac LifeSupport (ACLS).
Previous experience as a PCA orother nursing assistance preferred.
Ability toimprove job performance through continuing education.
Possesses knowledge of quality concepts,principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques anddemonstrates ability to apply in support of departmental andpatient care quality improvement.
