U.S. Data Security ( USDS ) is a standalone department of TikTok in the U.S. This new security-first division was created to bring heightened focus and governance to our data protection policies and content assurance protocols to keep U.S. users safe.

About the Team

Our US Tech Services Data SRE team works closely with other engineering teams, product managers and data engineers to build and support state-of-the-art near-realtime streaming and batch data processing solutions and services.

The Ads Data ecosystem supports both the TikTok ads platform and our internal business intelligence platforms. In this role, you will have the opportunity to directly impact and be part of the company's success.

Responsibilities :

• Design, write, and deliver software to support and improve the availability, scalability, reliability, resiliency, monitoring, alerting, latency and efficiency of TikTok Ads Data ecosystem
• Manage day-to-day operations of data services, near-realtime and batch data pipelines
• Adhere to SLAs, system deployment, performance tuning and trouble shooting
• Be the PoC for data integrity within datastores and perform root cause analysis on issues
• Work towards elimination of toil
• Influence and create new designs, architectures, standards, and methods for large-scale distributed systems
• Engage in service capacity planning, demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system tuning
• Work as part of a team serving multiple stakeholders, balancing priorities while communicating status with internal customers
• Work as part of an On-Call rotation to ensure the production systems are operating smoothly

Qualifications :

• Good understanding of Unix / Linux operating systems internals and networking
• Experience writing code in Java, Go, Python or a similar language
• Expertise in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems (Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, Druid, Hadoop, Flink or comparable solutions), relational databases, caching solutions and web service frameworks
• Experience with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis and software design
• Experience developing tools and APIs to reduce manual interaction with systems and applications using a variety of coding and scripting standards
• Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills and a sense of drive

Preferred Qualifications :

• Familiarity with running production grade web services at scale and understanding cloud native technologies and networking
• Knowledge about a variety of strategies for ingesting, modeling, processing, and persisting data, ETL design, dimensional modeling, and cube design
• Experience working with Ads System

Job Information :

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $119700 - $210672 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
