Position Summary : This is a great opportunity to work in a respected clinic as a Weight Loss Health Coach Assistant. Successful candidate must maintain a professional image in the office and in all communications.

Must be able to multi-task while maintaining good patient and staff relations along with providing outstanding customer service.

Job functions include performing body composition and resting metabolic rate testing, as well as clerical and scheduling duties (see additional job functions below).

This position can potentially be used to fulfill internship requirements.

Essential Job Functions : Ability to, with proper training, perform body composition and resting metabolic rate testing, take weight and blood pressure measurements, use computer programs to track patient information, answer phone calls, perform clerical and scheduling duties, assist with program development tasks as needed, and follow written and oral instructions.

Candidate must also possess good time management skills and exhibit professionalism in dress and in language. Punctuality and reliability are imperative.

If said job functions are performed accurately and to the highest standard, additional opportunities may be provided to work with patients one-on-one to establish goals for weight loss and lifestyle intervention.

This includes teaching weight loss tools and techniques in regard to nutrition, physical activity, and behavior change.

Qualifications : Dedicated and hard-working university student studying exercise and wellness, exercise science, public health, nutrition, or another field related to weight management.

Knowledgeable in a variety of general health topics, specifically nutrition, physical activity, and health behavior change.

Interest and / or experience with health coaching / motivational interviewing. Ideal candidate is punctual, organized, and manages time well.

Spanish / Portuguese language skills are useful, but not required.

Personal Training certification(s) are useful, but not required.

Hours : Position is full-time. Office hours are Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm.
