SUMMARY
The Telemetry Registered Nurse is a professional nurse who coordinates the delivery of nursing care for monitored patients during their hospital stay including cardiac monitoring, hemodynamic stabilization, responsive to emergent situations, care of evidence based medicine patients and cardiac cath patients.
The Telemetry Registered Nurse participates in patient and family teaching, provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Required Licenses / Certifications
- Current RN licensure in the State of Texas or compact state
- CPR Certification
- ACLS- RNs with more than 1 year of experience should obtain certification within 6 months of employment. New RN / GN, ACLS, within 12 months of hire
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge and skills.
Tenet complies with federal, state, and / or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce. The RN provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process.
The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and Infection Control, with the goal being to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care provided.
Assumes responsibility for coordination and planning of patient care within the prescribed medical regime. Administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.
Performs and fulfills all HICS (hospital incident command system) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and / or disaster.
Responsible for knowing the Hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the Hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.
Education :
Required : Graduated from a state approved school of nursing or an accredited school.
Preferred : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing
Experience :
Preferred : Recent acute care experience.
Certifications :
Required : Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy;
CPR. AHA BLS, and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and / or PALS and / or NRP.
