We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Project Manager to lead the roll-out of new hardware across a university campus in South Texas.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the telecommunications industry, with specific expertise in infrastructure and hardware upgrades.
Location : Fully Remote- Candidates must live in Texas for this role
Key Responsibilities :
Project Planning and Management :
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, outlining project tasks, timelines, and resource allocations.
- Ensure all project milestones and deliverables are met on time and within budget.
Hardware and Infrastructure Roll-Out :
- Oversee the deployment of new hardware across the university campus.
- Coordinate the reconfiguration of circuits and the implementation of Wi-Fi upgrades.
- Manage all technical aspects of the hardware roll-out, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
Budget and Resource Management :
- Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring optimal use of resources.
- Prepare financial reports and forecasts as needed.
- Allocate resources effectively, balancing workload and capacity to meet project goals.
Team Coordination and Leadership :
- Lead and coordinate a team of technical professionals, providing clear direction and support.
- Foster a collaborative work environment, encouraging team engagement and performance.
- Ensure all team members understand their roles and responsibilities within the project.
Stakeholder Communication :
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, including university administrators and IT staff.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, addressing any issues or risks promptly.
- Facilitate meetings and communication between project team members and stakeholders.
Risk Management :
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor project progress and proactively address any challenges that arise.
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3 plus years of proven experience as a Project Manager in the telecommunications industry, with a focus on infrastructure and hardware upgrades.
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale IT projects, particularly in educational settings.
- Strong understanding of circuit and Wi-Fi technologies.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Preferred Qualifications :
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
- Experience working in a remote environment.
- Familiarity with university or campus IT infrastructure.
