Description
POSITIONSUMMARY : Assists the inpatient pharmacy departmentstaff in accomplishing the goals of efficiently dispensingmedications through preparation of bulk and batch sterile products( IV solutions);
providing drugs and supplies to nursing stationsand all associated functions that are entailed in that process, andproducing accurate patientcharges.
Requirements
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION : High Schooldiploma or equivalent is required.
CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES : Must maintain current registration with the NM Board ofPharmacy
SKILLS :
- Effective verbal andinterpersonal skills are required
- Basiccomputer skills are required
- Familiarity withmedical terminology, basic math and reading comprehension skillsare preferred.
EXPERIENCE : Hospitalexperience is preferred.

Occasionalexposure in daily duties. Little expected risk, but may beexposed unexpectedly to potential infectious materials.
Exposure may be superficial and limited to a small amount offluid. Close quarters in a busy environment. Low riskfor infectious disease.
Possible exposure to hazardouschemicals, allergenic drug products and needle sticks. Moderateexposure to video display terminals.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Mustbe able to move throughout the hospital at a rapid pace for theentire shift. Hearing must be sufficient to answer telephonesand eyesight must be sufficient to read requisitions.
Hand-eye coordination must be sufficient to perform aseptictechnique. Must be able to raise a moderate load (less than50 lbs.
using sound body mechanics alone or withassistance.
