The incumbent of this position is primarily responsible for administering IPV and aerosol treatments with medication as ordered by physician.
Will provide direct and indirect care and services to all patient age groups including : Adult, Adolescent, Pediatric and Infant.
Will perform CPR, perform ABG punctures and set up various pieces of Respiratory Therapy equipment. Will be responsible for setting up and maintaining mechanical ventilators as ordered by a physician.
Will perform EKGs and other related job duties as directed.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :
1) Administers all therapies in accordance with generally accepted practice / policy of any physician's orders.
2) Assists physician in the care and assessment of patients using ventilators and all other aspects of Respiratory Care according to established departmental policy.
3) Performs ABG's according to established departmental policy.
Currently credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
Currently licensed by the Alabama State Board for Respiratory Therapy (ASBRT) as a Respiratory Therapist. A minimum of BLS is required.
BLS must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
