Construction Sales Project Manager

Our client a leader inbuilding controls and automation is looking for a ConstructionSales Project Manager with a proven track record in both sales andproject management within the controls or mechanical contractingindustries.

The successful candidate will be responsible foracquiring new projects at acceptable margin levels and managingthese projects to successful completion.

Thisrole requires a dynamic individual who can act as a project leaderunder general supervision responsively meeting customerrequirements and employing sound project management techniques tooversee daytoday activities.

This position not only involvesperforming engineering to controls team standards but also managingthe financial results of projects and activities assigned all whilemaintaining customer satisfaction and project financialgoals.

Construction Project Manager JobResponsibilities

  • Lead clientmeetings and develop contracts to finalize sales maintainingpositive relationships with clients vendors subcontractors andindustry contacts.
  • Develop and update projectimplementation plans ensuring timely and costeffective installationand completion of projects.
  • Ensure profitablecompletion of projects managing cash cost and billing effectivelyand maintaining profitability goals and positive cashflow.
  • Coordinate with controls engineering teamactivities configure design and engineer systems to maintainquality and customer satisfaction and oversee project constructionfor compliance with specifications and safetyactivities.
  • Manage material procurementmonitoring usage cost and inventory and obtain lead time discountswhen possible.
  • Plan and monitor commissioningand checkout of the system ensuring job completion documentation iscomplete.
  • Proactively evaluate potentialproblems on the job and initiate action to limit negative outcomesincluding pursuing change orders for equitable adjustments tocontracts.
  • Coordinate onsite visits for servicepersonnel and ensure a smooth transition toservice.
  • Develop and maintain relationshipswith customers prime contractors subcontractors and trade personneland ensure subcontractors understand projectexpectations.
  • Adhere to safety standards andpromote a high degree of regard for employee and subcontractorsafety.

Qualifications

  • Current experience in selling and projectmanagement within a controls company or as a mechanicalcontractor.
  • Ability to sell and manage projectsdemonstrating strong leadership and project managementskills.
  • Proficient in sound project managementtechniques and engineering principles related to building controlsand automation.
  • Strong financial managementskills with the ability to manage project profitability and cashflow.
  • Excellent communication andrelationshipbuilding skills capable of maintaining positiverelationships with a broad range ofstakeholders.
  • A strong commitment to safetystandards and ensuring the safety of all projectparticipants.
