Position Summary :
Hairstylists work with the customers to help them achieve the look they want. Cleans and maintains the salon. Be a stylist with excellent customer service skills. Be a team member and continue to develop and hone skills as a salesperson. Offer products, and other specialty services to the clients. Skill levels and customer service are important, as customer reviews can greatly determine success.
Core Responsibilities :
- Welcome customers and identify their preferences by asking pointed questions
- Recommend hairstyles and haircuts according to customers’ face shapes and tastes
- Shampoo, cut, dye, and style hair.
- Apply chemicals to change texture of hair
- Cut, trim and shave hair using professional equipment
- Apply a wide range of hair coloring techniques, like highlights, ombre and balayage
- Apply hair treatment products, as needed (e.g. color protection creams and hydrating masks)
- Form bonds with loyal customers and remember their hairstyle preferences
- Manage bookings
- Cross-sell hair care products and other services Bergamos Retreat provides
- Give clients advice on how to maintain a hairstyle or look
- Style clients’ hair for a special event such as weddings and photo shoots
- Keep personal relationships to a minimum with the clients to focus on services being provided
- Complete all services within the standard time frames
- Take a detailed client history and note any health conditions
- Research past experiences your guest has had so that you may better serve them
- Ensure tidiness of the salon and sterilize tools
- Ensure work areas are clean and in alignment with applicable health and safety regulations
- Promote a positive atmosphere and come to work with a smile
- Immediately report guest belongings that have been left behind
- Assist with laundry
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies :
Certification in CosmetologyHigh work ethic and self-initiativeExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, a talent making people feel comfortable and better about themselvesRegular attendance according to established guidelinesMay be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the propertyExtensive knowledge of business and services in all departmentsStrong time management abilitiesAbility to maintain excellent relationships with staff and always maintain staff and guest confidentialityPhysical Requirements :
