Shift : 12-hour shifts, 7 : 00 AM - 7 : 30 PM
Days Per Week : 3.00
Schedule Notes : Every other weekend required, 3 / 6 holidays required, no on-call
Job Summary :
The Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg / Tele CWR is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care in a step-down unit.
The RN plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on patient needs, advocating for evidence-based practices and patient-centric care.
Key Responsibilities :
- Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient needs.
- Identify patient needs and determine priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized plans of care for assigned patients through initial and ongoing assessments.
- Initiate assessments based on patient problems, physician medical diagnoses, and functional health frameworks.
- Perform therapeutic nursing interventions. Manage care of patients.
- Document care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and / or clinical priorities.
- Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support the adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
- Provide patient-centric care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model. Float to comparable units as needed.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience :
- Minimum of 2 years prior RN experience working in a Med Surg / Tele unit in a major acute care hospital setting.
- Strong Med Surg / Tele background.
Education Requirements :
Required : ASN
Preferred : BSN
Certifications & Licensure :
Required : BLS (must be AHA), NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license
Language Requirements : English (Speak, Read, Write)
