The role encompasses a comprehensive set of responsibilities across various domains :
In collaboration, the individual partners with the department manager, ensuring clear communication, conflict resolution, and defined task responsibilities to maintain clinic operations.
Planning involves working with manager and staff to enhance patient care and support departmental goals, including maintaining staff meeting schedules and committee development.
Organizing requires utilizing personal skills to manage self and others, serving as a role model and resource.
Staffing duties include working within budgetary constraints to staff the department, conducting evaluations, overseeing new employee orientation, and occasionally performing as a staff nurse.
Coordinating involves collaborating with radiation oncology staff and other departments to improve quality and support best practices, utilizing leadership and interpersonal skills.
Controlling encompasses managing resources, staff overtime, equipment functionality, and budgetary processes.
Directing responsibilities include leading, mentoring, and motivating staff, demonstrating service excellence, and multi-tasking to meet department needs and enhance satisfaction.
Quality Assurance tasks involve designing and participating in quality improvement activities and enforcing clinical standards.
Continuing education emphasizes maintaining clinical and supervisorial knowledge.
Providence Swedish Vision component focuses on promoting customer service and integrating processes for smooth patient flow, ensuring quality care practices.
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited school.
Washington Registered Nurse License upon hire.
National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
At least 10 years of Nursing experience
At least 2 years of recent experience in oncology nursing with demonstrated clinical knowledge and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience in radiation oncology nursing
Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN)
Experience as a charge nurse.
Demonstrates a friendly and compassionate approach to cultivate a trusting patient-healthcare provider relationship.
Advocates strongly for patients by effectively communicating treatment plans to interdisciplinary teams and family members.
Possesses a high level of emotional intelligence to ensure a positive patient and caregiver care experience, including the ability to simplify medical terminology and concepts for patients and caregivers.
Demonstrates strong communication and critical thinking skills, effectively performing beyond desired qualifications.
