What Are We Seeking :
We are seeking a remote Merchandising & Assortment Planning Manager to be responsible for implementing a strategic approach to inventory management, sales forecasting, and pricing strategy to optimize customer experience and drive profitable growth.
This role will focus on managing inventory needs for both eCommerce, wholesale, marketplace and retail channels, establishing consumer-driven assortment plans, and ensuring the right products are available at the right price, place, and time.
They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute sales, inventory, pricing plans, and assortment architecture that align with Erin Condren’s goals, key performance indicators, and overall business strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Assortment Planning & Merchandising Strategy : Help develop and implement assortment and merchandising strategies in collaboration with product development and marketing teams to optimize product selection, pricing, sales, and margin.
Create bottoms-up sales forecasts for items and categories based on historical data, market trends, and strategic goals.
Pricing Strategy & Analysis : Develop and maintain competitive pricing strategies that align with market dynamics and consumer expectations.
Regularly analyze and adjust pricing structures to optimize profitability and maintain market competitiveness while supporting the company's brand positioning.
Inventory Management & Forecasting : Forecast purchase order quantities for new and carryover items to support eCommerce and retail channels.
Maintain optimal inventory levels by balancing demand planning with top-down financial targets, ensuring sufficient inventory to meet customer demand.
- Omni-Channel Integration : Facilitate and communicate inventory and pricing needs across omni-channel assortment strategies, ensuring alignment between eCommerce and brick-and-mortar sales plans.
- Open-to-Buy & Pricing Management : Manage the open-to-buy process for finished goods, reviewing regularly with leadership to adjust based on business needs and sales trends.
Monitor and evaluate the impact of pricing adjustments on sales performance and inventory levels.
Data Analysis & Reporting : Provide in-depth assortment, pricing analysis, merchandising reports, and actionable insights to leadership and cross-functional partners.
Monitor and report on key supply chain KPIs to identify bottlenecks and drive improvements.
- Cross-functional Collaboration : Work closely with Purchasing, Product Development, Marketing, eCommerce, Manufacturing, and Finance to execute the company’s strategy, sales / cost targets, pricing goals, and new product development initiatives.
- Merchandising Optimization : Partner with the eCommerce team to optimize the online product catalog, pricing tactics, and merchandising strategies to enhance product discoverability, conversion rates, and customer satisfaction.
Implement merchandising plans and promotions to drive traffic and revenue growth.
- Process Improvement : Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness in the supply chain, pricing, and merchandising operations.
- Special Projects & Brand Support : Support other brands under the company umbrella with assortment planning, eCommerce merchandising initiatives, and pricing strategies for new products and special projects as needed.
- Market & Trend Research : Stay up to date with industry trends, market changes, competitor pricing, and merchandising activities to inform strategies and ensure the company remains competitive.
Experience & Qualifications :
Required :
- 5+ years of experience in merchandise planning, eCommerce merchandising, pricing strategy, allocations, or operations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, etc.) and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Strong understanding of supply chain functions, including purchasing, sourcing, manufacturing, planning, and logistics.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret financial, pricing, and sales data to make data-driven decisions and recommendations.
- Strong analytical skills with a collaborative and strategic mindset.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with experience in cross-functional collaboration.
- Customer service-oriented approach with a high level of ethics, honesty, and integrity.
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred :
- Experience with ERP systems such as Sage, Oracle, or NetSuite.
- Comprehensive understanding of retail math, inventory planning methodologies, and pricing analysis.
- Previous experience in an eCommerce focused merchandising and pricing role.
