About this role
As an HVAC Service Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC systems, chiller systems, controls, and process cooling equipment.
This role involves servicing, maintaining, and installing HVAC equipment for indoor environments and process systems. The technician actively contributes to energy efficiency and cost savings by optimally managing HVAC and process cooling systems in Las Vegas and surrounding communities.
Additionally, the technician provides factory warranty support, conducts new equipment startups, and offers technical support services to ensure that systems are covered and operating according to manufacturer specifications.
Key Responsibilities :
- Inspect air-conditioning units to ensure efficient operation
- Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions
- Install, replace, or repair damaged equipment; calibrate thermostatic controls
- Install new heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems; repair and replace damaged or worn heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning parts and equipment;
repair or replace low- and high-pressure liquid lines
Inspect and observe pressure of liquids and vapor with instrumentation to ensure efficient operation of the unit and make necessary adjustments;
inspect and service refrigeration equipment including refrigerators, ice machines, gas packs, and heat pumps
- Maintain the chilled and hot water supply systems
- Adjust and maintain internal electrical and electronic control systems; clean coils, blowers, check motors, and belt tensions
- Assemble and install metal ductwork
- Assist in planning and designing of new installations of heating and air-conditioning systems
- Maintain maintenance records as required by City, State, and EPA regulations
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as required
- Recognize and identify potential risks and hazards associated with performing all work-related duties safely
- Work to mitigate potential risks associated with essential duties
- Collaborate with management personnel to maintain safe working environments
Basic Requirements :
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience as an HVAC service technician
- A valid driver’s license is required
- Ability to enter into the Union and or currently enrolled
- Push / pull / lift up to 50lbs
Preferred Qualifications :
- Knowledge of principles and practices of Heating, Venting, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) maintenance and repair; hazard and safety practices common to the trade
- Knowledge of HVAC controls and safety devices; appropriate Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) / chemical usages; tools of the trade;
materials and refrigerant recovery equipment and procedures used in installing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems
- Ability to read and interpret City, State, and EPA regulations
