PACE Medical Director

Role Summary :

As our Medical Director, you'll play a vital role in clinical care provision and oversight. Your main responsibilities will include ensuring evidence-based high-quality care is provided in line with PACE program standards, applicable regulatory requirements, and our organizational mission.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide high-quality medical care to PACE participants.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate employed physicians, advanced practitioners, and transitions of care coordinators.
  • Oversee the Quality Improvement and Performance Improvement Program (QAPI).
  • Monitor utilization management trends and set outcome targets.
  • Oversee provider after-hours on-call arrangements to ensure 24-hour provider availability.
  • Stay current with literature and best practices, making recommendations to adjust policies and procedures as needed.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with community physicians and other providers.
  • Participate on the Quality committee and other committees or workgroups as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

  • Passion for serving high-risk seniors and frail older adults.
  • MD or DO required; active board certification in geriatrics, complex care, home-based care, palliative care, internal medicine, or other related clinical area.
  • Previous experience in a PACE model or similar environments.
  • Five or more years of practicing medicine with at least two years working with an elderly or frail population.
  • Current, unrestricted medical license in the states in which we operate.
  • Current DEA certificate and up-to-date immunization records.
  • Bilingual preferred (English and Spanish).
