The Finance Director’s role is responsible for maintaining financial operations of companies and other organizations. They help develop long-term financial goals for their organization and develop strategies to reach them.
Finance directors also produce various financial statements and reports, oversee investment activities and advise management on different financial decisions.

- Direct and monitor all financial activity of the organization
- Manage company cash flow
- Outline and implement company-wide budget plans
- Prepare company financial statements monthly and annually, as needed
- Oversee all accounting work and set up internal and external audits to ensure the accuracy of information
- Use data analysis to strategically forecast financial trends
- Work with and advise the investment team on solid financial decision making to increase profits and minimize losses
- Provide strategic financial planning advice to upper management for long-term growth
- Establish internal work processes for the financial department (including accounting and billing) and monitor their progress
- Maintain and manage investor client relationships
- Analyze and interpret financial data and present the information with reports and presentations to the board of directors and executive directors
- Manage cash from any outside banking facilities or funding
- Stay abreast of current market trends and patterns and act accordingly
- Assess company spending and work to reduce costs
- Manage the finance department, training any new employees as necessary
- Have a clear understanding of and adhere to current laws and regulations
- Prior experience with owning and enhancing ERP AAI (Automatic Accounting Instructions)
- Working knowledge of Accounting and Payroll software and systems such as JDE / UKG Pro.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Prior experience as the sole lead on year-end audits including preparing information for audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum of 20 years’ experience preferred.
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Experience with Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable / including cash posting.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with MS Office applications : Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Oracle JDE Software knowledge a plus
- Working knowledge of Accounting and Payroll software and systems such as JDE / UKG Pro.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Prior experience as the sole lead on year-end audits including preparing information for audits.
- Strong organizational skills, flexibility and the ability to set priorities.
- Work accurately with close attention to detail.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Ability to communicate and work well with personnel at all levels within the organization and interact with customers.
- Provide effective oral and written communications to individuals.
- Ability to speak effectively in telephone conversations.
- Ability to remain professional in tense conversations.
Physical Needs
- Must be able to ascend and descend staircases.
- Retrieve and file documents from floor level to six feet in height on as much as two hours duration.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls;
reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Able to maintain files from floor to six feet elevation.
- The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
