Job Summary : Stagehand work is part time on an as needed basis position. Shifts are made available and employees sign up for the shift they can work.
Employee will perform a multitude of physical tasks to change over the facility both Broadmoor World Arena and Pikes Peak Center from event to event.
Person assists in the assembly and disassembly of show productions through load in, load out and operating events. Cross training will happen in various departments :
- Electrics set up / operate lighting instruments, followspots, anything powered for the event
- Sound assist Head Technician set up / operate all areas of mics, speakers, equipment, etc.
- Carpentry set up staging, trusses, scenery, back drops
- Properties this crew is responsible for set decorations and hand held items used by the actors during the performance
- Wardrobe work with costumes / clothing of the performers. Laundry, ironing, mending, and dressing performers included.
- Video set up video walls / screens and projectors
- Backline Assist with instruments
- Pusher pushes cases to and from loading dock to floor
- Truck Loader Unload and load all of crates from the trucks / busses. Position will be assigned per event and based on your experience to best ensure a successful event.
Essential Functions of Position :
- Load and unload crates and equipment from trucks, which can include handling items that weigh up to several hundred pounds.
- Assembling production equipment
- Construction of set pieces, risers, musical equipment, etc
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, supervisor(s) and co-workers.
- Ability to frequently lift and / or move up to 100 lbs.
- Employee is exposed to cold temperatures and elevated noise levels depending on the nature of the particular event Requirements, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities :
- Capable of following instructions and work closely with others
- Ability to maintain a calm, composed presence in an often fast-paced environment where multiple tasks will occur simultaneously
- Available to work varying hours to include nights, weekends, and occasionally holidays
- Technically minded / knowledge of show production is a plus
- Work Boots preferably steel toed , work gloves, and crescent wrench
- Perform other duties as assigned
