Nature of work :

  • Under general supervision, oversees some and / or all of the planning, implementing, quality control, and status reporting on a given project(s).
  • May assist in developing schedules, plans projects and delivers required results on time and at / or under budget.
  • Able to perform multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Performs varied assignments involving routine work.
  • Understands a range of issues, opportunities or problems.
  • Demonstrates a curiosity to learn more. Works with client and / or internal customer to address and solve a problem identified within the designated project.

General :

  • Under general supervision, prepare a project schedule baseline plan that accurately reflects tasks, time estimates and resources (including personnel, technology and equipment) associated with each task.
  • Understand client needs and define the scope of the project, in order to correctly and effectively determine specifications and allocate resources.
  • Identify risks and review with supervisor for impact to project and determine best solution.
  • Conclude the project when all requirements have been met.
  • Do a post-project audit and ensure that the project was completed timely and within budget.
  • Ensure prompt payments based on factors such as deliverables, milestones, time or other accomplishments, as per the agreement.
  • When finished, close out the contract; resolve open items and ensure payment.

Initiating & Planning :

  • Review scope of project with supervisor and work together to develop schedule / project plan.
  • Work with supervisor as needed to determine what type and quantity of resources such as people and equipment are needed to complete the project activities.

Executing :

Manage the project plan to ensure the project’s scope, time and cost are all managed. Monitor and compare progress against the baseline plan.

Recognize when the project is seriously deviating from the baseline.

  • Coordinate and manage business, organizational, technological and resource changes that affect the entire project.
  • Manage the vendor relationship to ensure open lines of communication and to make it easier to resolve problems.
  • Generates basic project reports. Ensures timely and appropriate generation, dissemination, storage and ultimate disposal of project information.

Monitoring & Controlling :

  • Monitor project scope progress against the plan. Recognize problems and proactively work to resolve issues.
  • Generally conducts quality assurance activities regularly to ensure that the project will satisfy the relevant quality standards.
  • Manage the quality and adherence to the project plan and actively process and assume a lead role in securing legitimate change orders.

Creativity and ingenuity required :

  • Understands and applies conventional approaches and options to solving problems.
  • Exercises judgment in using defined procedures, in order to determine appropriate course of action.
  • Provide input on resource planning and policy development

Responsibility for assets and information :

Protects confidential information and proprietary processes. Handles materials and company equipment in a responsible and efficient manner

Responsibility for interpersonal contacts :

  • Customer contact primarily involves the exchange of information and answering questions. Interacts with peers and internal support personnel to coordinate work
  • Communicates effectively with clients. Effectively addresses issues. Serves as a Feedback conduit. Establishes positive and effective relationships with clients.
  • Has knowledge and understanding of key stakeholders. Establishes effective interpersonal and intergroup relationships involving a variety of persons and groups

Potential Impact :

Poor quality work or failure to obtain results may cause delays to schedules and require the expenditure of additional resources.

Education / formal training & work experience required :

High School Diploma / GED plus / or a minimum of 3 to 5 years professional experience within the electric sign trade or equivalent experience and training.

Project management and / or supervisory experience preferred.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills;
  • Solid time management skills;
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management.
  • General Knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards, contract administration, and records management.
  • Strong leadership skills, the ability to set and stick to a schedule, analytical thinking, and an orientation toward getting things done
  • Strong math and budgeting skills.
  • General working knowledge of MS Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Google Mail and other communication applications.
  • Use automated tools, such as Gantt charts, to schedule the work.
  • Good knowledge of specific Yesco products and procedures being learned on the job in any Yesco departments, the more exposure to each YESCO companies

  • Attend current classes teaching the latest construction industry's contract structure and what a sub contractor PM needs to recognize and address these in contracts.
  • Attend continuing education courses either within YESCO or externally, as approved by HR and management
