Job Title : Lead Clinical Social Worker Department : Family Services Location : Ontario Reports To : Reginal Clinical Supervisor FLSA Status : Exempt Salary Range : Starting at $75,000 New Hire Bonus : $3,000

Position Summary : The Lead Clinician is responsible for the center’s clinical operations, administration, and oversight of the clinical services for Unaccompanied Children.

The Lead Clinician is responsible for implementing treatment protocols approved by the RCS, developing behavioral plans, assessments, conducting utilization review, and evaluation of the program and services after unification with sponsor.

The Lead Clinical Social Worker must be active with BBS.

  • Understands the importance of personal appearance, professional dress, and professional conduct.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills, strong writing proficiencies can manage competing priorities.
  • Provides coverage for and responds to crisis with clinical interventions when it is needed.
  • Co-facilitate or facilitates individual, group or family sessions.
  • Ensures progress notes are submitted 48 hours after a service is delivered, but not later than Friday of the same week.
  • Participates in quality improvement activities and ensures compliance with ORR and clinical documentation deadlines.
  • Reviews case notes and behavioral treatment plans and routes them to Regional Clinical Supervisor for co-signature.
  • Review and signs off on behavioral specialist’s notes.
  • Monitors and oversees the program’s clinical activities and ensures compliance with federal, state and licensing standards.
  • Advocates for minor’s care by making recommendations and revisions to behavioral plans and therapeutic services.
  • Ensures behavioral plans and goals are communicated with the inter-disciplinary team during round ups.
  • Maintains current information on current or historical distressing life events.
  • Conducts home visits as needed; develops and maintains positive working relationships with program staff, minors, sponsors, resource parents and community providers.
  • Communicates clinical staff’ schedules to ensure clinical coverage is available.
  • Ensures all departments are working together to meet and exceed the needs of our minors.
  • Coaches and supports clinical staff to ensure they have program goals and contribute to process excellence.
  • Assists clinical staff with intake assessments and develops behavioral plans when needed.
  • Conducts UC and clinical assessments as needed.
  • Creates on-call schedule and is available to work on weekends, on call or evenings when needed.
  • Communicates schedule changes (i.e. flexing time and working from home) with PDs and APDs
  • Exhibits cultural awareness, cultural curiosity and sensitivity when interacting with minors and guardians.
  • Communicates with direct reports daily and conducts weekly supervisions using the Marsell Supervision Note.
  • Organize and facilitates weekly meetings with clinicians and behavioral specialists.
  • Provides direct supervision to Behavioral Specialists.
  • Facilitates monthly clinical all-staff meetings to communicate clinical, administrative and ORR updates.
  • Attends Town Hall meetings / Youth Voice and Choice led by Program Director.
  • Participates in pre-staffing and staffing as needed.
  • Reviews employee’s performance using objective outcomes and measurements.
  • Draft and issue 90-day and annual evaluations and supporting documentation according to established protocols.
  • Provides consultation to clinical staff and other service providers to ensure coordination of care.
  • Utilize the clinical audit tool to review cases and ensure documentation is updated in UC Portal and stay in compliance with ORR.
  • Conduct internal audits as needed of behavioral specialists and clinician’s progress notes weekly.

Qualifications : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education / Experience : Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or other relevant behavioral science.

  • Must be active with Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) .
  • 2 years of post-graduate direct service delivery preferred
  • Previous supervisory / management experience.
  • Strong organizational, communication and time management skills and keen attention to detail.

Language Ability :

Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Read, analyze and interpret business, professional, technical or governmental documents. Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.

Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and the public.

Mathematical Ability :

Comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, algebra and advanced statistical theory. Work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems.

Reasoning Ability :

Apply logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Deal with nonverbal symbolism (e.g., formulas and equations) in difficult phases.

Deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills :

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proficient in the use of standard office equipment.

Certificates and Licenses :

Licensed or eligible for license required. If the candidate doesn’t meet the Key Personnel Minimum Qualifications Checklist and Attestation for licensure, the Clinical Supervisor will need to request a Waiver Request and Justification and Proposed Training and Supervision Plan.

Supervisory Responsibilities : Directly supervises employees in the Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

when necessary, corrective / disciplinary action in a timely and professional manner.
