Field Service Technician - Machine Tool

NOW HIRING A FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN IN ELGIN, IL

DIRECT HIRE

MINIMUM 75% TRAVEL

HOURY RATE OF $30 / HR An industry leading machine manufacturer, is looking for a Field Service Technician to install, repair and test sheet metal equipment, CNC machinery, and components.

Identify parts for replacement on equipment and requests orders to be placed as necessary. Familiar with a variety of field service concepts, practices, and procedures.

Mechanical Competencies

• Basic Understanding and Ability to Read Mechanical Drawings / Layouts
• Basic Understanding of Mechanical Systems
• Competent in basic hand tools for machine tool repair

Electrical Competencies

• Basic Usage of a Multi Meter
• Basic Electrical Safety Knowledge

Other Competencies

• Must have the ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
• Needs to possess excellent troubleshooting skills
• Must have good customer service skills
• Ability to maintain good relations with customers and fellow colleagues
• Must be a team player
• Should have excellent verbal communication skills
• Must have the ability to work under pressure
• Ability to manage service calls
• Ability to handle frustration

Work Environment

This job operates primarily in a shop / manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard mechanical / electrical equipment such as hand tools, meters, test bars and inspection tools.

Physical Demands

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, drive. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist frequently.

Travel

Ability to travel long distances; overnight travel required
