SUMMARY
The Staff Accountant has wide range of accounting and finance experiences in a manufacturing environment including general ledger, accounts receivable reporting and collections, inventory and standard costing.
In addition to the financial responsibilities, the staff accountant also provides business partnership to the Production, Engineering, and Customer Service teams.
This is a growth-oriented role that would help prepare you to be a Finance Manager / Plant Controller in the future.
To provide business support, it is important that the finance team is on-site in the plant, but Dynacast values work-life balance and is open to occasional flexible working conditions (e.
g. at home, hours different from normal business hours, etc.) as needed and after trust has been established. These conditions should be discussed with and approved by the Finance Manager.
Travel is generally not expected for this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Key contributor to the financial close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Records journal entries with supporting back-up
- Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations
- Manages intercompany transactions and prepares monthly reconciliation
- Performs bank reconciliations and ensures reconciled items are cleared
- Uses the Epicor (ERP) system to record accounting transactions and provide financial support to other members of the Management team to assist them in their decision-making processes
- Processes accounting receivables and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Administers AR collection process, resolves collections by examining customer payment plans and payment history. Facilitates payment of invoices due by sending statements, bill reminders and other documents.
- Performs customer billing and submit invoices to customers
- Administers metal inventory records, reconciliations, and monthly reports
- Manages new customer's and vendor's process
- Updates standard costs annually (or more frequently as needed). Works closely with Engineering, Customer Service, and Production to understand and validate the standard cost of each part, analyzes manufacturing variances and job profitability, and makes adjustments to improve financial accuracy
- Supports ad hoc requests and improvement initiatives
- Creates and reviews various reports supporting finance and operations
- Prepares information required for external audits
- Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships between departments and with co-workers
- Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and / or training preferably in a manufacturing environment;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, suppliers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to effectively present information to top management. Must have strong computer excel skills and proficiency in Epicor (or similar ERP system) for analyzing data and making entries.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and to create formulas using spreadsheets.
Ability run "what if" scenarios for various situations for budgeting and projecting purposes. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able to correlate financial data into sound financial decision making.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works primarily in a standard office environment. To count metal, the employee will enter the manufacturing plant and is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and equipment.
The noise level in the work environment is quiet in the office, moderate in the plant. Safety equipment such as shoes and glasses are required in the plant.
