Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week
Experience : Preferred minimum 2 years of bedside nursing experience in a comparably sized hospital
License : Active RN or compact state license
Certifications : Active BLS - must be American Heart Association
Must-Have :
- Experience in a large hospital setting with 200+ beds
- Experience in a busy level 1 trauma center
- EPIC experience
- Willingness to float to all units / locations within the area as needed
- Preferred travel experience
Job Description :
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a 32-bed medical-surgical unit
- Perform head-to-toe and focused assessments
- Administer medications safely and accurately
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
- Update patients and their families on the plan of care
- Advocate for patients as needed
- Document all care thoroughly and accurately
- Utilize various equipment, such as OmniCell, Philips Care monitors, glucometers, bladder scanners, Language Line, and Zebra phones
- Work 12-hour shifts, rotating day / night, with requirements to work every other weekend and holiday
- Participate in a structured orientation program consisting of 8-hour classroom training and 24 hours of unit training
- Ensure adaptability by floating to other medical-surgical units in the area as needed
