Title : Maintenance Technician / HandymanLocation : Virginia / Southern MarylandLeading franchise of quick-service restaurants, is actively searching for a Maintenance Technician / Handyman.

The role of the Technician / Handyman is focused on ensuring the highest possible level of service while working to perform mechanical and electrical repair, as well as basic plumbing and carpentry work as directed on equipment and / or buildings.

The Technician / Handyman is skilled in numerous areas of craftsmanship and will perform a wide variety of jobs. Day-to-day tasks can vary greatly.

Responsibilities : - Maintain working knowledge of maintenance methods, materials and equipment, as well as safety regulations and precautions related to work performed.

Use manual dexterity and skill to safely and proficiently operate various tools and equipment.- Preform physically strenuous tasks, stand for long periods, climb ladders and work from high places.

Be able to bend, stoop, reach, lift and move at least 75 lbs.- Travel to and from various locations.- Learn and carry out the primary accountabilities of the assigned position.

  • Effectively communicate in writing and orally on job progress and other overall assignments and responsibilities.- Interpret work from sketches, building plans, specifications and oral or written instructions.
  • Perform work inside and / or outside to include being exposed to extreme cold, extreme heat, noise and vibration; mechanical, electrical, chemical hazards and atmospheric conditions.
  • Work in confined spaces.- Able to resolve efficiently and be focused and self-motivated.- Be discrete and flexible while using time management and organization- Must be able to work unsupervised and in a timely fashion and to respond to emergencies.

Qualifications : - EPA Certification is required.- HVAC Certification is preferred.- Experience with Commercial kitchen equipment repair, HVAC, Refrigeration & Plumbing.

  • Working experience and knowledge of restaurant equipment.- Familiarity with small appliance / cooking equipment repair experience.
  • Provide own vehicle (van or truck preferred).- Valid driver"s license with acceptable driving record.- Maintain updated auto insurance.
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with all levels of management.- Learn to perform a variety of manual tasks related to assigned duties.
