The Visa Commercial Solutions (VCS) team is a world-class commercial organization experiencing tremendous growth as we expand into new payment flows and continue to grow our core solutions.
Our team brings payment solutions and associated services to clients around the globe. Our global clients and partners deploy our solutions to serve the needs of Small Businesses, Middle Market Clients, Large Corporate Clients, Multi Nationals and Governments.
We work closely with Issuers, Merchants, FinTechs and other ecosystem players to deliver these services. We believe that the market is at an inflection point whereby Visa can play a larger role in building and delivering solutions around the world.
The Director is responsible for technical solutioning, client engagement and voice of the customer for Visa Commercial Solutions.
As our product suite grows and develops more complex options for clients, it’s imperative that we have specific, deep knowledge of our capabilities to help solution with them.
This position is accountable for driving detailed discussions with the regions and sales teams on our products to ensure understanding, define scope and identify where / how our clients can make the most use of our capabilities.
The Director will also provide expertise to solution for new areas of opportunity that may include new use cases, fintech constructs or verticals.
Specific activities include deep demos, product solutioning around specific use cases and applications, and identification of needs which may or may not require development.
This role will primarily focus on technical product solutioning opportunities in North America . The Director will serve as the VCS Solution Design lead for the region and liaise with VCS North America Product and Sales teams to support complex client engagements.
The ideal candidate is an experienced professional that understands both the business and technical aspects of payments and has a track record of delivering solutions that exceed client expectations.
This role requires strategic thinking, innovation, collaboration, and creative problem-solving skills. The candidate will bring prior experience in hands-on client management, sales solutioning and close knowledge of developments in B2B payments.
The candidate must be creative and hands-on, have a bias towards action and inspire others with their vision.
Essential Functions
- Lead technical sales solutioning for optimized onboarding and new integrated solutions in North America. Product types include virtual card solutions, API integrations for B2B payment capabilities, and complex SaaS offerings
- Partner with sales and solution teams to close a deal, identify best in class ways to implement existing products to solve new business problems and capture requirements for areas that require development
- Be an innovator who can create new solutions using out-of-the-box thinking and our Visa Commercial Solutions
- Drive focused discovery sessions and workshops with large financial institutions and technology providers across a range of industries to understand client’s specific business requirements and value drivers
- Bring breadth of knowledge and technical expertise to solution for new use cases, fintechs, and verticals. Pinpoint and enable use cases related to commercial applications with the goal of scaling.
Develop a solution design and the necessary configuration that will effectively demonstrate that Visa can address the client’s needs and provide business value
- Drive adoption, best practices and quantifiable value for our largest customers and during this process create impactful relationships and strive to become their trusted advisor
- Act as a resident expert on product capabilities, use cases, and roadmap. Support stakeholder questions related to products and services.
Communicate and evangelize product roadmap with key stakeholders
- Confidently present and articulate the business value of your proposed solution to business managers and executives
- Rationalize product enhancement requests and develop business requirements to support new use cases. This includes developing business cases to aid in prioritization of development resources and related investments
- Develop solution playbooks. Assess regional solution fit vs global extensibility. Ensure repeatability of solutions at a global level where applicable
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership / site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
5 or more years of relevant work experience with a bachelor's degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an advanced degree (e.
g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
6 or more years of work experience with a bachelor's degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an advanced degree (e.
g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
- 10+ years of relevant sales engineering or product management experience, preferably in B2B payments
- Strong understanding of B2B payments with in-depth knowledge of virtual card payments, value-added solutions for corporates, payment tokenization, and issuer processing platforms / providers
- Extensive experience with modern API concepts, technical integration, and file delivery
- Proven ability to lead a range of initiatives end-to-end to meet client commitments with a customer-centric orientation
- Demonstrated success in delivering complex initiatives in a matrixed and distributed global organization
- Natural collaborator, with excellent communication skills and executive presence. Must be self-motivated and comfortable with ambiguity, and have the ability to influence across multiple levels and organizations including internal and external stakeholders
- Adept strategic thinker, problem solver and results-oriented pragmatist
- Strong oral and written communications as well as influencing and negotiation skills. Able to communicate complex, technical concepts in a focused and well-organized manner
- Willingness to take on new challenges, explore new ideas and be flexible with changing priorities
- Project Management experience with complex software solutions
Additional Information
Work Hours : Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements : This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental / Physical Requirements : This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY : The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $131,00 to $213,000 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable).
Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
