SUMMARY
The Charge Registered Nurse is a professional nurse who coordinates the delivery of nursing care. The Charge Registered Nurse participates in patient and family teaching, provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
Aligned with Nursing Unit Leadership, the Charge Nurse coordinates the delivery of nursing care and provides leadership by working cooperatively with medical, ancillary and support staff in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Required Licenses / Certifications
- Current RN licensure in the State of Texas or compact state
- CPR Certification
- ACLS- RNs with more than 1 year of experience should obtain certification within 6 months of employment. New RN / GN, ACLS, within 12 months of hire
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge and skills.

Education :
Required : Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Required : 1 year of RN experience.
Certifications :
Required : Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy; AHA BLS.
