What is Program Planning to Lockheed Martin?
Program planning a crucial part of Program Management and Enterprise Performance. It is the essential process of organizing and managing tasks to achieve our mission, which includes scheduling the design, development and sustainability of our products.
It involves breaking down the creation of our products into smaller engineering and manufacturing tasks, and then determining the sequence in which those tasks need to be completed, and how long each task will take to complete.
Program planning and scheduling enables our projects to be completed on time, within budget, and with the desired quality.
Aeronautical program planning is an exciting process that combines creativity, science, and technology to create amazing machines that enable humans to explore and travel in the air and beyond!
Summary of Key Duties
The Skunk Works Program Planning Team member for this position is a self-starter and relationship builder supporting an integrated team within the Skunk Works various platforms to ensure successful program execution and performance, including all aspects of a validated Earned Value Management system.
This position has shared responsibility for schedule baseline management and control as well as assisting in monthly variance analysis.
Responsibilities include the development and maintenance of schedules. Candidate will also integrate and assess schedule impacts of proposed work on both existing and future plans.
Candidate will develop / refine knowledge of Critical Path Methodology and how to apply it in schedule network development and analysis.
Position interacts across a variety of program functional organizations such as engineering, procurement, contracts, business management, production and quality control.
This position will be an active participant in the evaluation of program and project planning and scheduling products and practices and will be instrumental in the resultant remediation activities upon identification of gaps.

- Experience with networked schedules, integrity checks, and critical path methodology.
- Experience with Schedule Performance Management Techniques, e.g. Earned Value Management
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving abilities
- Previous experience with Deltek OpenPlan
- Excellent Communication and Organizational skills
