Job Id : 1966 # of Openings : 1 POSITION TITLE : Systems Administrator DEPARTMENT : Information Technology REPORTS TO : Assistant Director of Infrastructure Services POSITION SUMMARY : The Systems Administrator provides onsite and remote client computing services and support to the Dominican University community.
Working within a team structure, the Administrator provides a range of technical services, including basic to advanced troubleshooting for local and hosted applications, client computing support cases, image / software support, enterprise desktop support, and mobile device management, building a working relationship and communication foundation with the Dominican community.
The Systems Administrator also assists with managing security privileges across a suite of university systems and applications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Responsible for day-to-day maintenance and support of the Microsoft 365 tenancy, including Teams, OneDrive for Business, Cloud App Security, Intune (MDM), and Azure AD.
- Provides direct technical support in problem management, integration, and systems maintenance of JAMF for Apple devices and applications.
- Assists in tier 2 and tier 3 desktop support, deployments, and case resolutions.
- Provide ongoing assistance for offices, labs, and classroom support of equipment and applications.
- Ensures installation, updates, and availability for onsite and SaaS applications.
- Assists in developing and providing technical training materials for faculty, staff, and students in hardware and software to facilitate information technology.
- Participates with the team in planning and policy-making relevant to Information Technology.
- Ensures client responsiveness and service-level agreement (SLA) accountability through outreach and proactive responsiveness to cases.
- Attend all departmental and other planning meetings. At the request of the CIO, represent the division at additional campus or external meetings, events, or gatherings.
- Participate in occasional after-hour, weekend, or holiday support needs, upgrades, or emergency scenarios.
- Other duties as required and / or assigned by supervisor.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Associate’s degree.
- At least 1 year of experience with IT systems and security management.
- Demonstrated understanding of the importance of protecting sensitive and private data.
- Strong commitment to customer support, leadership, and communication.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in a higher education environment.
- Experience with Azure AD, JAMF, Microsoft SCCM, Microsoft Teams Calling, and / or Microsoft Intune.
Physical Demands :
- Ability to spend long durations of the workday sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Salary and FLSA Status
- Salary : $50,000 $65,000 annually
- FLSA Status : Exempt, 37.5 hours
